The calculator uses simplified average values. We list them all for transparency.
- 01Price of electricity bought from the grid: €0.30/kWh, constant over time.
- 02Energy exported to the grid valued at €0.08/kWh.
- 03Output: 1,300 kWh per kWp per year (northern/central Italy, good orientation, no shading).
- 04System sized to cover roughly the yearly consumption (from 2 kWp; maximum 12 kWp for homes and 400 kWp for businesses).
- 05Self-consumption: 35% of output without a battery, 65% with a battery.
- 06Indicative cost: €1,700/kWp for homes, €1,200/kWp for businesses, €650 per kWh of storage (1.2 kWh per kWp). VAT and incentives excluded.
- 07CO₂ avoided: 0.25 kg per kWh produced.
- 08The range shown is ±15% around the central value. Panel degradation, maintenance, financing and price changes are not included.
Battery or no battery?
Without a battery, energy produced while you're out is exported to the grid at a lower value. With a battery you can use it in the evening. It pays off mostly if you use a lot of energy in the evening.
Questions about savings
Is the calculator's estimate a promise of savings?
No. It's an indication based on average assumptions. Real savings depend on many factors, and we estimate them for your case after the site survey.
Are there incentives or tax relief?
Tax relief or incentives are often available, but they change over time. When preparing your quote we check which ones apply at that moment.
How long does a solar system last?
Panels typically last many years, with a slow decline in performance. Inverters and batteries may need replacing during the system's lifetime.
Do I need a south-facing roof?
South is ideal, but east and west can work well too. During the site survey we assess orientation and shading.
